Founded in December 2020 in New Zealand, Thom Morison is an independent menswear studio dedicated to creating everyday pieces of the highest quality. Owner and designer Thom Sussex works in the studio as a pattern maker and samples each piece in-store to slowly build each collection. Every single garment is rigorously tested to be highly comfortable, considered, and functional.
The studio's goal is to make superior quality, timeless pieces made up of simple lines but still have a sense of individuality and charm. A respect for the time-honored traditions of menswear design, updated with a contemporary feel.
Fabric and trimmings are all carefully hand-sourced for quality and durability with a particular focus on sustainable and natural fibers like cotton, wool, and linen. Each garment is sewn by a local atelier that has been carefully selected to deliver the highest quality garments that last for years to come.
Thom recognizes his responsibility to lower the impact on the planet. This includes a zero-waste merino knitwear program. As a small independent brand, there are limitations to what's possible—but day by day, through a desire and willingness to learn, grow, and place importance on this vision, they're striving to reach a gold standard.
